Joining for even a short time will make a difference!

Mercy For Animals in Reno

Do you support cramming animals into crates so small they can't turn around, lie down comfortably, or walk for their entire lives? Walmart does. In fact, pork sold in Walmart stores comes from factory farms where pregnant pigs spend their miserable lives locked in narrow gestation crates barely larger than their own bodies—unable to engage in basic behaviors and denied all mental stimulation.

Following a Mercy For Animals undercover investigation exposing shocking animal abuse at a major Walmart pork supplier, we are now calling on the world's largest retailer to require its suppliers to phase out inherently cruel gestation crates. Join Mercy For Animals in Reno for an eye-catching protest outside a Walmart store. Protestors will be joined by a 10-foot-tall inflatable pig, covered in bloody sores and crammed inside a tiny gestation crate.

The incomprehensible pig gestation cratesSigns, banners, and leaflets will be provided. Media is expected at the event, so please dress professionally. Encourage your friends and family to join you at this peaceful protest. And, before attending, please be sure to sign MFA's petition urging Walmart executives to phase out gestation crates, then share the petition and undercover video with others. Climbing For Kitties!

Climbing for Kitties!

A team of fundraisers is training to climb the world's tallest climbing wall.
Some have had no experience climbing. Zero.
Towering 16 stories above the Reno Arch, fear and fatigue will set in.
They'll put all that aside and climb with everything they've got to raise money for Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada,

Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada

Feline Rescue does amazing work, not only caring for abandoned cats that are blind, lame, diabetic, geriatric and have other highly special needs, they help in homeless situations and with the elderly. Other local animal welfare agencies turn to FRoNN. They have a spay/neuter voucher program that helps keeps cats off the streets. FRoNN has litter and food programs to the qualified and if you adopt one of their special needs cats the support package is unparalleled. A win/win for our community. Please give generously to this important resource so they can continue their work that benefits the great Reno Community at large!

Climbing For Kitties! So far we are a team of five.
Leading the A-team who will climb the 164' wall is experienced climber Rob Gorder. Sonja Mills has started to train Billy Howard who has now made his first and only climb of 20'. Only 140' more to go! Rob's son, Robby Gorder, 14, is training for the climb and we'll be joined by Danielle Mayabb.

You, too, may join us!

A high school team is in the works and others who would like to fundraise on a smaller climb are welcome.

Reply to this email or contact us on our Climbing for Kitties website or Facebook page if you'd like to join us. The cats can really use our help.
