Take a Tour of our New Advocacy Center!

After a fantastic Grand Opening with delicious vegan sweets from CakeKraft, the Farm Animal Advocacy Center in Philadelphia is now up and running! We're now able to help more animals than ever with our central location full of resources and information for activists.  Drop by at 1601 Walnut Street during our regular office hours Mon-Fri, 9-5pm, or take a virtual tour today to check out our new digs!

Intern & Save Lives With the Humane League!

You can join us in saving lives at our Advocacy Center in Philadelphia, or in any of our offices in Boston, Maryland or New York by applying for an internship! Our newest intern Steph knew she wanted to get involved after she was approached on campus by one of our college outreach activists.  Here she tells us a bit about herself and her new role with the Humane League:
Tell  us a bit about yourself.
I grew up in Western Pennsylvania, studied English and creative writing at Eastern University, and have recently settled down in Philly. I love to bike, run, garden, and cook, and I am really into DIY projects like making my own kombucha and almond milk yogurt.
What attracted you to this internship? I wanted to connect my passion for animals and veganism with a local nonprofit that works for the same values I believe in. I love the idea of working alongside like-minded people and learning about animal advocacy on a larger scale.
Tell us about your typical day at the Advocacy Center. "Typical" ranges from office tasks like mailings, event planning, and updating databases to accompanying our campaigns director Kathy on cage-free egg petition adventures or handing out vegetarian leaflets in Center City. A typical day typically involves a lot of variety!
What do you hope to learn from your time here?I hope to learn more about effective animal advocacy and how to stay continually involved, whether or not I'm actually working for a nonprofit. I'm excited to educate myself and others about these issues and learn how to best use my energy and creativity to make a difference for animals.

Help Make Veg Eating More Accessible

Wouldn't it be wonderful to know what restaurants have vegan options without having to search online or carry around a guidebook? We are one step closer to making this dream a reality with our brand new "Vegan Options Inside!" stickers.  These bold stickers adhere to the inside of glass windows and doors, and let customers know that not only is this business vegan-friendly, but that going vegan is easier than you think - there are options literally everywhere!

We have already started approaching cafes and restaurants like Lizzy's Ice Cream shop in Boston to display our new stickers and help them reach out to a growing audience, but
we need your help to reach out to as many businesses as we can! If you know of a restaraunt or cafe near you that has a vegan entree on their menu, please get in touch and we will send you some stickers for the owners.
